Make room for Mason! The Social Security Administration released its list of top baby names today, and the most surprising thing about this year's top 10 is that the name of Kourtney Kardashian's little cutie -- Mason -- is the only new addition to the top 10. Mason jumped from the number 12 spot in 2010 to number two in 2011.
Aside from the addition of Mason (which knocked Anthony off the list), the top 10 did little more than shuffle around in a baby-name version of musical chairs: On the boys' side, the uber-traditional Michael jumped from the number six spot to number three. There is a new number one girls' name -- Sophia -- but it simply flip-flopped with last year's number one, Isabella, while Mia (number nine) and Chloe (number 10) swapped spots at the bottom.
We can't say we're shocked; after all, some of the baby name trends we called back in January are represented here: The rhyming names Aiden (number nine) and Jayden (number four) continue to make a strong showing, as do biblical names like Jacob (number one -- for the 13th year!), Noah (number five) and Abigail (number seven).
There are some surprises, however: The relatively unusual Brantley and Briella are the fastest-rising boy and girl names, with Iker and Angelique in second. And -- throwback alert -- Elvis is back in the top 1,000.
