From American Idol to Haiti and back -- it's been quite a ride for Idol's Kris Allen!
The Season 9 winner will be heading to Haiti on Friday to meet with members of the U.N., before returning to the States to perform on next week's Idol results show.
“I’m looking forward to traveling to Haiti to see the U.N.’s work firsthand,” Allen said in a statement to MTV.com. “The people of Haiti are rebuilding their country, and the U.N. is there to help them every step of the way. I look forward to sharing the images and stories from my trip with Idol viewers across the country.”
Allen's return to the show is part of the "Idol Gives Back" charity effort, as Idol judge Randy Jackson has suggested that this year's proceeds go to Haiti. The full "Idol Gives Back" episode will air on Fox on April 21.
