And the Winner of American Idol 2009 Is....
... Kris Allen!
I know! I was happily stunned -- but not as much as he was.
Kris was literally speechless when Ryan Seacrest announced that the underdog from Arkansas beat out Adam "Glambert" Lambert to take the American Idol title. It was kind of awesome.
You know what else was awesome? The whole two-hour Idol finale!
With performances by Queen Latifah, Keith Urban, Queen, Kiss, Jason Mraz, Black Eyed Peas, Lionel Richie (who's still got it!) and more, the people over Idol didn't disappoint. Instead of a show filled with one hour and 59 minutes of filler, they actually used the time to showcase some fantastic music. Like Kris Allen's mom said, I was having such a good time I almost forgot that we were waiting for the results.
All in all, probably the best Idol season ever. Did your favorite win?
