And for today's breaking news in high-profile celebrity divorces...
In the midst of his attempt to severe ties from Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries has found himself in the news for allegedly impregnating someone else. Humphries took up with Myla Sinanaj, a hotel worker who looks eerily like Kardashian, in January, about three months after his marriage imploded. The couple has since split, but Sinanaj claims she's carrying the 27-year-old NBA player's child and plans to raise it by herself, sources tell TMZ. (Side note: If it is Humphries' baby, this is how he's finding out about it -- because Sinanaj reportedly hasn't given him a heads-up.)
The timing couldn't be worse for Humphries, who's been hammering out the financial details of his divorce settlement. Humphries claimed emotional distress in the wake of his marriage ending, but Sinanaj's pregnancy could be taken as a sign that, in fact, he moved on pretty quickly.
Sadly, it's not the first time Sinanaj's name has appeared in the gossip columns. A month ago, Radar claimed that Humphries had hooked up with Sinanaj but considered the relationship a casual fling. Sinanaj said otherwise, and told acquaintances that she was his new girlfriend. Knowing the damage her claims would do to his divorce case, Humphries' lawyer told her to stop talking.
Here the details get murky, but Radar then reported that Sinanaj responded by trying to extort Humphries for millions of dollars to keep quiet. Humphries reportedly even turned over information to the FBI to prove it.
Meanwhile, Kardashian's legal team subpoenaed Sinanaj to reveal the nature of their relationship. (Sinanaj says she has thousands of text messages to prove the relationship was more than just a fling.)
Just prior to today's news of the pregnancy, Radar reported the last development: Humphries attorneys would probably issue a subpoena for Kardashian's new boyfriend, Kanye West, to ascertain the nature of their relationship during her 72-day marriage to Humphries.
But now that the pregnancy wrench has (potentially) been thrown into the proceedings, Kardashian seems to have (potentially) gained the upper hand in the case. Of course, let's be honest here: No one's coming out of this sordid saga looking especially good.
