Kris Humphries must have been feeling pretty good about his reported $24 million contract with the Brooklyn Nets, because he poked fun at ex-wife Kim Kardashian's current boyfriend Kanye West while announcing his good news.
The professional basketball player, who is still in the middle of a protracted divorce from Kardashian, didn't just tell fans about his return to the Nets -- he also took aim at West.
"I'm up at Brooklyn!" Humphries, 27, wrote on Tuesday. Then he directed a comment directly at Jay-Z, who goes by his given name Shawn Carter's initials on Twitter: "@S_C 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!"
In case the reference isn't clear, the quote is from West's song "Way Too Cold," which mentions West's relationship with Kardashian and suggests that the singer could persuade Jay-Z to drop Humphries from the Nets roster.
The lyrics say: "And I'll admit, I had fell in love with Kim/Around the same time she had fell in love with him/ Well that's cool, baby girl, do ya thang/ Lucky I ain't had Jay drop him from the team."
Kanye may have gotten Kim, but Kris seems pretty pleased by his multi-million-dollar contract. So far, West has yet to address the dig -- but considering he "started" it with the lyric, maybe the two can call it even.
