Kris Humphries Wants an Annulment -- Not a Divorce: Report

Sources say the NBA star will file for legal separation from estranged wife Kim Kardashian, so that their marriage can eventually be annulled

Kim Kardashian is the one who filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, but apparently it's Humphries who wants it to be as though their quickie 72-day marriage never happened.

Sources tell People that Humphries is planning to file a request for a legal separation instead of a divorce, something he'll likely do within the next few days.

Why would Humphries do this? According to the sources, the 26-year-old NBA star's ultimate intent is to have his marriage to Kardashian, 31, annuled -- which means there would be no legal record that they'd ever been married.

Trouble between Kardashian and Humphries seemed to start immediately for the newlyweds, judging by what was shown in the season 2 premiere of Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

Originally, it had seemed that Humphries was willing to move on and sign the reality starlet's divorce papers, but maybe watching the trouble go down on the small screen has caused him to have a change of heart.

Kardashian has also has a change of heart following their wedding. In a new interview with Glamour, she admits that watching her second marriage dissolve after only 72 days has made her reevaluate her perception of love and fairy-tale happily-ever-afters.

"I believe in love and the dream of having a perfect relationship, but my idea of it has changed," she says in the interview. "I think I need to not live in a fairy tale like that. I think I maybe need to just snap out of it and be a little more realistic."
