According to E! News, Humphries, 27, and his attorneys have had a "generous" divorce agreement in their hands for several months but have yet to sign off on the legal settlement that would officially end the NBA player's short-lived marriage to the reality star. A source tells E! that Humphries and his legal team are stalling because they think they can "get him even more money."
"Kris is dragging it out," the source says. "Kim is ready to move on, but Kris is hoping that stretching it out will get him even more money."
Although neither Humphries nor Kardashian (or their reps) have commented on the status of the divorce proceedings, a source in the know says that the basketball player wants a hefty sum for the divorce -- $7 million (the same amount he reportedly makes playing for the New Jersey Nets).
Humphries claimed in an interview with Life & Style that he has not made any particular demands on Kardashian, but a source told E! News that he offered his multi-millionaire ex his complete silence on the subject of their marriage in exchange for a $7 million settlement.
"Kim never considered signing something like that," our insider says. "Kris can't take the time to consider [her] offer, but he finds time to do an interview with a tabloid magazine."
"There is a fair offer on the table," the source says, "but he just won't sign it."
Kardashian, 31, filed for divorce last Halloween, making it nearly five months since their union's demise was announced.
