Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Get Married -- at the Courthouse!

The new parents tied the knot in low-key style on Thursday. See other celeb pairs who've eschewed a lavish wedding for a simple ceremony.

They had a long engagement, vowing not to marry until everyone had the right. So why waste any more time planning a traditional wedding? On Thursday, about three months since the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act, longtime lovebirds (and parents to 6-month-old daughter LincolnKristen Bell and Dax Shepard quietly got married at the Beverly Hills County Clerk's Office on Thursday with a court employee officiating.

And, well ... that's certainly the least expensive way to tie the knot! "We're very frugal," Bell once told a reporter. "[We're] hillbillies at heart, and I'm not f-cking ashamed of that."

No doubt a bid for privacy also factored into the couple's desire for low-key nuptials. In fact, many celebrities have foregone the pomp and circumstance (and massive expense!) of a lavish wedding and opted for a quick and quiet trip to the courthouse to make their love official. Here are five other couples who've also done it:

Keira Knightley and James Righton
In May 2013, the Pirates of the Caribbean actress married her musician man at the town hall in Mazan, France. "She had the least pretentious wedding ever," designer pal Karl Lagerfeld told British Marie Claire."The whole thing was relaxed. I think it's perfect. After all, they lived together for quite a time. It's not as if she is a young girl of 18 who sees the husband for the first time. She is not a country girl."

Matt and Luciana Damon
Their low-key 2005 wedding at New York’s City Hall was so small that Damon's best friend Ben Affleck wasn't even there. (Luciana’s then-7-year-old daughter Alexia was there, as was New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.) In April 2013, the couple renewed their vows in front of their families and friends.

Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery
In November 2007, the Grey's Anatomy actress and her record producer fiancé also got hitched at New York's City Hall, with a clerk's office employee officiating. Bloomberg was at this one, too. (Doesn't he have more important things to do than attend celebrity weddings?!)

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren
In May 2008, the pregnant Fantastic Four actress and her TV and film producer boyfriend tied the knot at the Beverly Hills Courthouse, with no guests.
