She's such a strong woman!
On Tuesday, the Emmy-winning actress posted a message to her Facebook page, saying "It's time for me to be upfront with you about something that's been going on with me."
Johnston explained that beginning in September, she started becoming "really, really sick," admitting that at certain times, it was a challenge to even try to walk up the stairs. Her symptoms included "
You guys will laugh your asses off at her as Stuart's sister. I promise, you won't even miss me! (Well, maybe a teeny tiny bit?)."
Johnston did not specify the "rare autoimmune disorder" that she was suffering from in Tuesday's post. But by late Wednesday, news had already broke about her illness, forcing her to address the rumors.
"I'm not trying to be 'coy,' 'relevant' or 'get attention,' " she declared. "I just was diagnosed two days ago with a rare form of Lupus called 'Lupus Myelitis' – Google it. I'm not on my death bed … far from it. I'm gonna be fine."
Why didn't she go into further detail in her original post? The actress explains that she "wanted to have a few weeks of privacy to navigate it and receive treatment. The only reason I said anything is because I won't be in a few episodes."
But fans shouldn't fret -- Johnston says that she is "on the right treatment, feeling better and back to work!"
