The comic geniuses behind Saturday Night Live's MacGyver spoof took the simple sketch and turned it into a full-length film. The result? An outrageous, boundary-pushing R-rated comedy filled with crude stunts and hilarious sex scenes.
"It probably would have been more awkward with someone else," MacGruber star Kristen Wiig, 36, tells iVillage about stripping down with her SNL buddy. "But since Will (Forte) is kind of like my brother…"
"It made it extra hot!" jokes costar Ryan Phillippe.
New to comedy, Phillippe, 35, tells iVillage he wanted to be a part of the project as soon as he read the script. The actor (formerly married to Reese Witherspoon) also opened up about his two kids – Ava, 10, and Deacon, 6 – and the adorable Father's Day gift they got him.
"It was a paper tie that my son made in preschool," Phillippe says. "I wore it for a couple days. It was really big, too. Kind of '70s style."
Watch our exclusive video interview to find out why Phillippe would be better than Wiig at real-life crime fighting, and why he says his kids have "better personalities" than him.
