Who Should Judge Idol?

The show must go on and American Idol continues to book guest judges to fill the hole left by the departure of Paula Abdul.

Actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth is the latest celebrity to sign on and sit alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi.

Chenoweth was most recently in ABC’s Pushing Daisies, earning two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Along with being a great actress, Chenoweth knows a thing or two about singing. She’s a classically trained singer who spent nearly 10 years on Broadway.

The list of celebrities participating during the call-back auditions is quite impressive. Along with Chenoweth, Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Shania Twain, Joe Jonas and Neil Patrick Harris will all play a key part in Season 9 of Idol.

I wouldn’t rule out Abdul returning at some point to American Idol.

The show just wouldn’t be the same without her. Love her or hate her, Abdul’s presence is almost as important as Cowell.

And if she does return, you can almost bet that she will let the world know via her Twitter account. It might read a little something like this:

“Gr8 news guys, I’m back on American Idol! I’m so excited to be back and I’m looking forward to a great season.”

In the event she doesn’t come back, who would you love to see serve as a guest host on a weekly basis on American Idol?

I would love to see all of the previous eight winners come back and sit in Abdul’s chair. Who else better to judge this season’s batch of hopefuls than the singers who know what it takes to win American Idol.
