Kristin Chenoweth Admits Twittering on Ambien

A warning to insomniacs: The popular sleeping pill Ambien has blamed for sleepwalking, sleep-eating, and now... sleep-tweeting? At least, that's Kristin Chenoweth's excuse for some of her more regrettable Twitter moments. The 41-year-old actor-singer coined a new phrase during an interview in this week's Time Out NY when she confessed to "Ambien tweeting."

"I do love Twitter. But I get in trouble because I Ambien tweet," the bubbly Chenoweth said, in response to a question about her near-constant Twitter activity. Among her regrets are writing about her desire to adopt a Haitian child -- "The next day on the red carpet, everyone was asking me when my adoption was going to start" -- and tweeting that she felt fat one day. "Every woman has 'fat days'! And everybody was like, 'Don't tweet that for young girls to see.' I thought, Oh my God, take a chill pill." (In Chenoweth's non-anorexic defense, she twittered this last week: "I just ate fried oreos. Wow. I love sugar and chocolate.")

Chenoweth was interviewed along with former Will & Grace star Sean Hayes, her costar in the upcoming Broadway revival of the musical Promises, Promises. While Chenoweth had lots of juicy stories to share -- her college-drinking mishaps, her tendency to be mistaken for Cameron Diaz -- Hayes was tight-lipped about his personal life. Maybe he's feeling vulnerable after his buzzed-about interview in this month's issue of The Advocate, in which he opened up about being gay and the media's pressure to discuss celebrities' sexuality. Chenoweth's take on working with Hayes? "It was love at first sight. It seems like we’ve known each other for all time."
