You’ve seen Hollywood’s take on labor: the rush to the hospital, the expletive-laced shouts, the sweaty-yet-perfectly-made-up face of the new mama as she holds her baby. You’ve also heard the not-so-perfect tales from well-meaning friends and family: the emergency C-sections, the longer-than-expected labors, the helpful (or, in some cases, unhelpful) labor nurses.
