This Thanksgiving, Lady Gaga is singing for her supper. The pop diva's latest surprise for fans is an ABC holiday special, A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, in which she'll perform some songs, do an interview with Katie Couric, and even cook a turkey!
"We all know Lady Gaga is a phenomenon. This is a chance to see more of who she is beneath the wild costumes and staged musical numbers," Couric says in a statement. "She will impress you, delight you and surprise you."
The 90-minute special will take an intimate look at Gaga's private life; not only is the interview filmed at her Manhattan alma mater, Sacred Heart Catholic School, but the concert will take place in front of Gaga's own friends and family. Gaga will perform a combination of her own songs ("The Edge of Glory," "You and I") and holiday tunes ("White Christmas"). And in the grand tradition of TV holiday specials, there will also be some celebrities dropping by -- including Tony Bennett, who will duet with Gaga on "The Lady is a Tramp."
As for dinner, that will be deep-fried turkey and waffles, cooked by Gaga with the help of chef Art Smith. (Why the Southern soul food when Gaga is an Italian New Yorker? We'll just have to wait and see!)
We don't know who will be on Gaga's guest list for this very private affair -- but we wonder if a certain rumored love interest will be invited! According to Us Weekly, Gaga has been making time with Vampire Diaries actor Taylor Kinney, who played her hunky love interest in the "You and I" video.
"They're hooking up and getting to know each other," a source tells the magazine, adding that they're not serious: "Gaga can't be too committed because she works 24/7. But she thinks he's supercute!"
Cute enough to score some homemade turkey and waffles? Perhaps!
Now the final mystery of Gaga's holiday special: Will she change the words to the song to fit the occasion, as she did at Bill Clinton's birthday concert? We'll get the ball rolling: "Can't eat my/can't eat my/no, you can't eat my pumpkin pie..."
