Talk about blonde ambition! Lady Gaga has announced that her forthcoming album is the greatest of her career -- and will be "the anthem of our generation." Gaga, who recently celebrated her 24th birthday, logged onto fan site Gaga Daily to make sure her loyal fans were the first to hear about her next move.
"I love you all so much. I wanted to say thank you and give you a present," reads the message. (We'll spare you the all-caps font that the Lady herself used.) "I've already written the first single for the new album and I promise you, that this album is the greatest of my career. It is the anthem for our generation. I wrote it for you."
The international superstar writes that she composed the new single ("the greatest music I've ever written") while visiting Liverpool, England, on her Little Monsters tour. She also promises to "come back soon and announce the album title." Oh, the suspense!
Gaga's outpouring of fan appreciated began on Sunday, when she Tweeted that a fan-made birthday video (compiled by members of Gaga Daily) had moved her to tears. "I've never cried so hard in 24 years, from pure joy and unconditional love. Tears still streaming," she wrote, after viewing the collected birthday wishes of 126 fans (below). "I don't know what I did to deserve the gift of you and all my fans. But God made you little monsters very special. U are my heart."
One thing's for sure: If anyone knows how to inspire fan loyalty, it's Lady Gaga. It's hard to believe she's only released one full album; we imagine, like Madonna or David Bowie, she'll recreate her look and sound for each record. Wonder what the next incarnation will be...
