Lady Gaga to Oprah: I'm Taking a Media Break

When it comes to her wardrobe, Lady Gaga doesn't mind being overexposed; when it comes to the media, it's a different story. In an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey, the 25-year-old superstar says she won't be doing any more press for a while. Watch the preview below!

In an advance clip from her sit-down on Oprah's Next Chapter, Gaga says that she's working on a new album -- and as part of her creative process, she's isolating herself from the media.

"Other than this interview, Oprah, I do not intend to speak to anyone for a very long time," says Gaga.

The "You and I" singer is also trying, temporarily, to remove herself from the music and celebrity world.

"No press, no television," she tells Oprah. "If my mom calls and says, 'Did you hear about ...' I don't want to know nothing about anything that's going on in relation to music... I shut it all off."

As part of the special, Oprah will become the first interviewer to visit the New York City apartment where Gaga was raised -- and to sit down with her beautiful mother, Cynthia Germanotta. In another clip, Cynthia talks about one of the moments when she first saw her daughter Stephanie transform into her eccentric stage personality. (Watch below!)

"When 'Gaga' started emerging when she was performing... she was in her bikini performing with [performance artist] Lady Starlight, and decided that night to actually light hairspray on fire," recalls Gaga's mother. "Some people left when that happened... her father and I were like... 'I think she has a screw loose.'"

The interview airs Sunday on OWN. And while Gaga may be staying away from the press for a while, you can still see her on tour: her Born This Way Ball kicks off in April.
