Lady Gaga is undoubtedly a pop superstar, but -- who knew? -- she's about to become a comic book heroine.
According to UsMagazine.com, the eccentric fashionista will star in the launch of a new series of comics, Fame, about the lives of pop culture icons. Gaga will grace the cover of the series' first installment, scheduled for a May 5 release.
"Fame gives us the ability to tell more interesting stories about a wider variety of notable personalities," Bluewater Productions President Darren G. Davis said in a statement.
Bluewater says future issues of Fame will feature other "culturally relevant" celebrities, such as Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson, rapper 50 Cent, soccer hunk David Beckham and country sweetheart Taylor Swift.
"Over the past year we saw an opportunity to broaden the scope of who reads comics," Davis said. "There were many who had never picked up a graphic novel or comic book but buy our biography titles like Female Force and Political Power. Fame is the natural extension of that trend."
