Lady Gaga will dance again! The pop singer has recovered from her February hip surgery and is scheduled to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards. What's more: she'll be debuting her new single. Life is good, little monsters.
Gaga is scheduled to perform the debut single from her upcoming album ARTPOP, which is likely called "Applause" or "The Applause." Earlier this week, Gaga hinted at the forthcoming single with a post on her Little Monsters website.
"'ARTPOP' as they pry the single from my bleeding fingers. It's a scary thing to revisit those things underneath, the pain in your past. But all I found was raw passion," wrote the pop star. "I thought I was destroyed inside. I'm just ready to fight. Start the music."
Yes, start the music! And just as importantly: start the fashion. Gaga has never disappointed us with her awards show outfits, which often have some kind of special meaning: that meat dress was a statement on "Don't Ask Don't Tell" (no, we don't get it, either), and that giant egg on the red carpet symbolized creative rebirth. So what will she wear to show the world that she's back and more relevant than ever? Here, 4 buzz-worthy topics that could inspire Gaga's next wacky outfit.
Gaga's been an alien and a mermaid, but shark couture would be a new one. We bet she could figure out a way to incorporate live sharks, if not an entire tornado.
Gaga has always been interested in the weirder aspects of fame, and Bynes' breakdown is about as weird (and sad) as it gets. We're thinking layers and layers of colorful wigs, facial piercings, and a trampoline.
After all, they're making a comeback as well. Gaga was writhing around on a cake in her last video teaser; why not emerge onstage from a giant Twinkie?
The Breaking Bad finale
Between the wacky chemist headgear and the pantlessness, this show already seems like a natural fit for Gaga's style.
