NSD: What was your big turning point-either during the show or before that made you realize you needed to lose the weight?
My father passed out and fractured his skull and was in the hospital for several months. I realized how close we came to losing him and realized that if I didn't make a change, I wouldn't be here for my family.
NSD: What is one thing you wish you had known before going on The Biggest Loser?
I learned in the first few weeks of being on the show why all my diets had failed.
NSD: Did you think it’s harder or easier to be on the show with a family member as a teammate as opposed to competing by yourself?
For me it was easier being there with my wife. I really struggled at first when she went home.
NSD: If you could have done one thing differently during the show, what would it be?
Nothing really. I probably should have worried less about home and more about me. But family comes first and that's hard to deal with when you don't know what's going on at home.
NSD: What's the hardest thing to adapt to while living on the ranch?
No communication with family at home! There is none! And it sucked!
NSD: What is one thing that keeps you motivated?
Thinking about my family and living longer to enjoy life with them.
NSD: What is your favorite workout?
Boxing and circuits.
NSD: What's the best advice Bob or Jillian has given you?
You have to stay focused on your goal! To live a longer and healthier life.
NSD: What is your favorite meal or snack?
Orange Roughy. It really takes on the flavor of the seasoning.
NSD: What's something viewers at home wouldn't know from watching the show?
I could make a book on this!
Watch The Biggest Loser on Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
