Hooray for Lauren Conrad! She Hasn't Blown It Yet.

It's good to be Lauren Conrad. At the ripe old age of 24, this burgeoning fashion designer/novelist/actress has just scored her third reality show on MTV. She landed the first two -- Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills -- when she was about 17 and 19. The latest show, tentatively titled Lauren Conrad: Fiercely Fashionable, will focus on her professional pursuits in the world of fashion.

Sad to say, what's even more impressive about Conrad is what she hasn't done. She isn't rumored to have a drug addiction, like her Hills costar Kristin Cavallari. She hasn't landed behind bars (or been caught up in a sex tape scandal), like fellow celebutante, Paris Hilton. She hasn't checked into a "treatment center" after losing a drastic amount of weight, like Nicole Richie. She hasn't been arrested for disorderly conduct, a la that pillar of reality star grace, Snooki.

This doesn't make Conrad a role model, mind you. For the most part, she is still famous for being famous. Let's remember how she got her break in TV: She satisfied the requirements of MTV casting agents, who were putting together a show about good-looking, uber-entitled California high schoolers.

But she has put her fame to good use, at least in terms of helping herself. Novels. Fashion lines. Upstanding boyfriends like her latest, Kyle Howard. Sure, she hasn't started up any soup kitchens lately, but on the other hand, she hasn't blown all her cash on cocaine, either. By today's celebrity standards, that's worth commending. Well done, Lauren!
