Lauren Conrad Is Now A....Writer?

I'm already hating myself because I know I'm going to have to read these books.

Reality star Lauren Conrad has inked a three-book deal with HarperCollins. The Hills' chick will be writing young-adult fiction, based loosely on her path from regular O.C. girl to sparkling celeb.

Shoot me now.

"It's definitely influenced by my own life," L.C. told People.com. "The books are about a girl who moves to L.A. and stars in a reality show, so obviously there are some similarities."

But Lauren swears she's not going to be spilling secrets about Audrina Patridge & Co.

"I'm not trying to do a fictional story based on all my friends in my real life because their stories aren't really mine to tell. Some of the characters may symbolize people in my life [hello, Heidi and Spencer], but it is in no way calling anyone out."

If you're weary about the content of her stories -- don't be. Lauren's working with some very trusted sources to help her with the book.

"I run ideas by Lo [Lauren Bosworth] and I'll ask for her opinion because I value my friends' opinions," she said.

The first installment of Lauren's fictitious life will hit bookstores around summer 2009.
