Lauren Graham Rumored to Join 'Parenthood'

Gilmore Girls' Lauren Graham is the latest actress rumored to replace Maura Tierney on NBC’s Parenthood.

Helen Hunt was in the running to land her first television gig since playing Jamie Buchman on Mad About You, but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement.

Since her days of playing Lorelai, young mom to teenage Rory in the WB sitcome, Graham has appeared in a handful of small movies, including Flash of Genius and The Answer Man.

Tierney had to pull out from Parenthood after she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.

The show has been pushed back to a midseason debut, but if they don’t find a replacement for Tierny’s character soon, that date could be in jeopardy.

I wonder if they can’t find a replacement because actresses are coming to their senses and realizing NBC wants to adapt a show around a film that came out 20 years ago for the second time.

The first attempt at a Parenthood television series came in 1990. Ron Howard served as executive producer of the failed television series that lasted all of 12 episodes before it was canceled.
