Because she and her boyfriend both catapulted to fame together on Glee, Michele says he's been able to provide exactly the kind of support she needs.
"I don't even remember a time when he wasn't my boyfriend. No one knows me better than Cory," Michele, 26, says in in the January issue of Marie Claire. "No one knows what it's been like to go through this more than he does. Feeling like you have that net underneath you allows you to jump higher and go farther. He makes me feel like I can do anything."
The Glee leading lady, who gushes about how thankful she is for Monteith, knows not everyone perceives her as grateful for her success -- or anything for that matter. But she wants to set the record straight about her reputation for being as diva-ish off camera as her character Rachel Berry is on the show.
"I can assure you that [diva rumors] aren't real," Michele stresses. "It's super-frustrating sometimes, and I used to fight back, but now I feel like, 'You can think what you want to think about me – that's OK.'"
The stage-and-screen star adds: "I have the most amazing fans, friends, and family members who have stood by me, and I know that my cast and crew really enjoy working with me. That's all that matters."
After four seasons starring on Fox's hit show and a fulfilled personal life, Michele says she is humbled by her success.
"For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy," she says. "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world."
