It may seem like it's all glitzy events, private jets and first-class vacations for Hollywood stars, but sometimes it can seem a bit like high school.
In September, Modern Family star Sarah Hyland poked fun at Lea Michele's red-carpet posing on an episode of E!'s Fashion Police and it caused quite a stir.
"I always feel like it’s super important in this business for women to be motivating. We've got it pretty tough as it is," Michele tells iVillage about being mocked. "So I just try to always be encouraging of the people that I work with or know -- even if I don’t know them. But that’s just the stance I take. What other people want to do, they can do."
The 25-year-old actress says her costars in the upcoming film New Year's Eve (in theaters Dec. 9) were very encouraging, which was helpful given that it was the Glee star's first feature film. Yet Michele -- who plays overachiever Rachel Berry on the small screen -- did face some personal challenges on set. "It was hard for me to let go of Rachel and get rid of my Rachel-isms and switch into another character," she explains. "I really feel comfortable now stepping into whatever’s next."
