Rimes and Sheremet's divorce was finalized on June 18, six months after she they reached a settlement. Sheremet filed for divorce in September 2009, after his wife got very cozy with Cibrian on the set of a TV movie.
As for Cibrian, well, his own divorce from estranged wife Brandi Glanville is not going quite as smoothly. Since getting canned from CSI: Miami, the actor is reportedly trying to renegotiate the terms of their split.
"He blames bad press from his ex for losing his job," a source close to the couple tells E! News. "Now they are at ground zero with negotiations. He is trying to pay her nothing."
An insider says Glanville is worried that she won't be able to keep up the lifestyle she's become accustomed to, now that her hubby isn't getting a weekly paycheck.
Cibrian has made no comment on his divorce or his recent firing, but Rimes is using her social media outlet to express her feelings.
"It makes me sad that the media once again can take something as personal as a divorce and make it a top news story. It's hard enough dealing with it on our own. Sucks to see it in your face at all times," she Twittered on Sunday.
"Well, maybe now we can move on. Thx to all my friends and fans for their unwavering support of both Dean and me. We've both needed it! Your love means a lot."
