LeAnn Rimes has spent a lot of time battling rumors about her weight and feuding with her fiancé's ex-wife on Twitter -- but last week, the singer found a more charitable use for her account on the social networking site.
It started on Wednesday, when Rimes bragged about spending "3 SOLID hrs" on closet organization. Her fans requested photos, so Rimes tweeted pictures of her extensive closet shelves, stuffed with shoes, bags and outfits.
"Everyone has a vice... mine are shoes and handbags," the singer explained with a smiley face.
That's when one of Rimes's Twitter followers, a single mom supporting her 16-month-old son, asked if Rimes had anything to spare.
"Just wondering if u have clothes or accessories u don't want?" asked Twitter user Pegjoyce. "Only one income coming in and extra money goes to son. I can paypal u shipping. Let me know and can give u address. Im good on computer but hard to find a stay at home job. Thanks!!"
Rimes asked the fan to direct-message her with her address and size, after which Rimes said she was shipping out some things.
"It will be on it's way soon," Rimes tweeted. "I have a few pair of flip flops for the summer and tennis shoes in your size... hope it helps."
The grateful fan vowed that when she was back on her feet, she'd pass the donation on to someone else in need. Twitter karma at its finest!
Rimes, who is planning her wedding to Eddie Cibrian, has lately been using her Twitter account to defend her extreme weight loss. We applaud her for ignoring the gossip mill for a minute and doing a good deed. Celebrities giving back to down-on-their-luck fans? That's one Twitter trend we'd love to see!
