Rimes, who is the stepmother of Eddie Cibrian's sons Mason, 9, and Jake, 5, told E! News that she and Cibrian are making baby plans.
"Eddie and I talk about having kids and I would love to be a mom," she said in an interview for an upcoming E! special. "I didn't ever want to bring a child into the world without taking care of myself. And that was another reason I decided to go (to rehab)."
While the country singer contemplates growing her family, Cibrian's ex-wife Glanville has painting Rimes in the media as an unfit stepmother. Earlier this week, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star blew up on Twitter after Rimes called her stepsons "my boys." Afterwards, Glanville explained herself to Us Weekly, saying that she considers Rimes an "unstable" guardian who is endangering her children. In the interview, Glanville claimed that Rimes has a severe eating disorder, and that her son Mason got "extremely ill" after eating he mistook one of his stepmother's laxatives for candy. She also said that Rimes and Cibrian have cut off all communication with her, and that the only way to get their attention is by voicing her issues on Twitter.
At the same time, a nasty email exchange between Cibrian and Glanville was leaked onto RadarOnline. In the emails, the actor defended his second wife, saying that Glanville was too consumed with "wine and narcissism" to see what a great mom she is. Glanville responded by calling Rimes an alcoholic and a drug addict, writing, "She is a wreck and spiraling down fast!!! The kids love her but they don't realize she is putting them in danger!!!!!" The reality star also scolded Cibrian, telling him to "put the tequila down and be a proper parent."
Soon afterwards, Glanville tweeted that she shouldn't have allowed those emails to go public. "I was n defense mode after seeing EC [Eddie Cibrian] put his on @radar_online Lets not talk of them anymore I was wrong 2 put it up," she wrote. She then urged her followers to take the focus away from Rimes and Cibrian. "I know it seems hypocritical but can we not talk about 'them' anymore at least 4today," Glanville pleaded on Thursday. "This is about my kids not them!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
After all this, Rimes still has not responded directly to Glanville -- though she did tell E! News that she feels her relationship with Cibrian is misunderstood. "I was America's Sweetheart for so many years, but it was just like everyone turned...No one will ever understand how much thought and hurt were put into our decision," she said.
At this point, honestly, is anyone still concerned about LeAnn and Eddie's 2009 infidelity? It's time for everyone to move on and think about those kids, who are stuck in the middle while Rimes, Cibrian and Glanville throw their dirty laundry back and forth. They day is coming when those boys will be able to Google themselves, and the sooner their parents can knock it off, the better.
