James Groccia, a 10-year-old Connecticut boy with Asperger's Syndrome wrote the Lego company a letter recently, describing his love for the classic toy, and sharing his disappointment that, after saving $100 of his own money for more than two years to buy the Emerald Night Train Set, he was crushed to discover it was no longer available.
The loyal Lego fan asked if the company could offer any suggestions on how to find the discontinued set -- that wouldn't cost a fortune. Then, about a month later, the boy found a box from Lego's customer service department had been delivered to his home, along with a personalized letter. "Yes! The Emerald Night! I finally have it!" James screams upon opening it.
"Fans like you are why we are so lucky as a company," the customer services advisor writes. "Who knows, maybe you will be working for The LEGO Group one day! You certainly have the heart and passion for our bricks to do so! Happy building, James!"
