Are Leighton Meester and Justin Long involved in a bi-coastal romance? California girl Meester is currently in New York City filming Gossip Girl -- and, according to the New York Post, she's been spending her off hours at Justin's downtown pad.
"Justin has a place on the Lower East Side, and they have been spending a lot of time together," says a source.
Meester and Long (who's still best known professionally as "the Mac guy" from the "Mac vs. PC" commercials) were first spotted getting romantic in May, when they shared a French dinner in Hollywood and left the restaurant holding hands. They actually met in 2010, when Meester had a small role in Long's 2010 romantic comedy Going the Distance -- which costarred Drew Barrymore, his on-and-off girlfriend for three years. (Meester played the girl who dumps Long in the film's opening scene -- awkward!) But Barrymore has now moved on to socialite Will Kopelman, leaving Long, 33, free to pursue a new romance.
As for 23-year-old Meester, she has yet to have that kind of high-profile hook-up (unless you count occasional Gossip Girl actor Sebastian Stan, whom she dated for two years). She was briefly linked to her Country Strong costar Garret Hedlund in January, when they were reportedly "all over each other" at the Golden Globes. But that flame seems to have cooled by the time the movie hit DVD.
It sounds like Meester and Long have a good thing going, but we may never hear all the details; Long was notoriously coy about his relationship with Barrymore, and Meester -- unlike, say, her Gossip Girl costar Blake Lively -- is keeping her romantic outings discreet.
We hope the rumored romance is true, if only to provide a bright spot for Meester -- who's currently involved in a nasty legal dispute with her duplicitous mother.
