Leonardo DiCaprio has ushered in his 37th birthday in the most Leonardo DiCaprio-ish way possible: at a swanky Manhattan lounge, surrounded by lingerie models! The J. Edgar star invited a crowd of Victoria's Secret models and famous friends to the New York City bar Avenue on Friday, where they celebrated Leo's big day in style.
"It was a very exclusive crowd," a source told People.
As well it should have been, since Leo rented out the entire club! That "very exclusive crowd" reportedly included Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro, Chace Crawford, Edward Norton, Benicio Del Toro, Kevin Connolly and Naomi Campbell, as well as -- aww! -- DiCaprio's mother Irmelin. Drinking alongside them were assorted billionaires, as well as Brazilian models Alessandra Ambrosio, Izabel Goulart and Ana Beatriz Barros.
In addition to celebrating Leo's 37th, the party had a nobler purpose: to raise money for DiCaprio's wildlife-protection and disaster-relief charity, The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. A few extra dollars were added to every drink to support the cause, and a few luxury items were auctioned off -- like a giant hand-painted bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, which sold for $50,000.
While it sounds like the party had no shortage of models, the reports make no mention of DiCaprio's new rumored love interest: model Karlie Kloss, who he met at (where else?) a Victoria's Secret Fashion Show after-party.
"He couldn't take his eyes off her," a witness told the New York Post on Friday.
DiCaprio has a history of picking girls off the runway: his last two serious girlfriends, Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli, were both Victoria's Secret models. It's a wonder they haven't named a collection after him yet!
