Imagine the year 1995 for Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg: Both actors are famous, but not they're not the superstars they are today. DiCaprio had yet to star in James Cameron's Titanic and Wahlberg's claim to fame was still Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.
But did you know that the two were actually costars and pals? Everyone mentions Leo's career-long BFFs like fellow child actors Tobey Maguire and Lukas Haas -- but at the age of 20, he and Wahlberg (then 24) both appeared in the edgy coming-of-age drama The Basketball Diaries.
Back then, DiCaprio was still a baby-faced actor known for his "pretty" face and golden blond locks, while Wahlberg -- even that early in his career -- had shown a penchant for stripping off his shirt and flaunting his chiseled abs.
As the Huffington Post reports, a user on Reddit unearthed a photo of Maguire and Haas from 1995, a reminder that the two came up the Hollywood ladder together. It would be a decade before the two reunited again on screen in Martin Scorese's Oscar-winning cop drama The Departed in 2006.
Next up for the two A-list actors? Wahlberg, 41, stars opposite his foul-mouthed teddy bear in the raunchy comedy Ted, and DiCaprio, 37, headlines the new Quentin Tarantino ensemble, the slavery-themed Django Unchained.
