From his baby-faced Titanic years to countless A-list movie roles, Leonardo DiCaprio has grown up in front of the camera -- and quite well, at that! As the actor just celebrated his 39th birthday, here’s a reminder of Leo’s good looks through the years.

He might be one of Hollywood’s biggest movie stars, but Leo made his acting debut on the small screen, starring as homeless student Luke Brower on Growing Pains. Seen here at a promotional event, Leo already knows how to work the camera!
At age 18, Leonardo broke into the movie biz by starring in This Boy’s Life, and he had all the charisma of a bona fide superstar. At the film’s premiere in L.A., Leo looks super suave and seductive.
Attending the Academy Awards at the ripe age of 19? Sounds like a dream to us! And Leonardo looked like a dream at the prestigious ceremony’s 66th year, dressed in a sharp tuxedo. We can’t even fault him for the then-popular floppy hair!
By 1995, Leo had reached full-on heartthrob status. Dressed in a loose-fitting jacket and collared shirt, he attends the California premiere of The Basketball Diaries with style and swagger.
Though he’s had quite a few female companions by his side on the red carpet, Leo has always managed to steal the spotlight -- it’s probably those smoldering eyes! But this sexy star is ever the gentleman, keeping Romeo + Juliet co-star Claire Danes close to his side at the film’s premiere.
Who could resist those pearly whites? In 1997, Leo sure had a lot to smile about: After starring in James Cameron’s box-office smash Titanic, the adorable actor’s face was plastered on every girl’s bedroom wall, and he became one of Hollywood’s hottest commodities.

Following the monumental success of Titanic, Leo could hardly be seen without Kate Winslet by his side! These cinematic superstars are all smiles at the 55th Annual Golden Globe Awards, and for good reason!
It’s hard to imagine today’s biggest celebs spending a day at the amusement park! But Leo made the most of his youth -- even if he was spending a day at Six Flags with cutie Kevin Connolly.

Leo sure cleans up well! In a classy all-black ensemble and short, tousled ‘do, the Hollywood hunk looks as sexy as ever at the premiere of The Beach.
His good looks are obvious, but Leo’s commitment to every movie role is equally as attractive! The actor let his locks grow while filming Gangs of New York, and we think he pulls off a ponytail quite well at The Concert for New York City in October 2001.

Leo isn’t just easy on the eyes -- he’s also an incredible talent! While filming on location in New York City, Leo shows off his acting chops in the Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator. The hard work paid off: Leo ultimately landed an Academy Award nomination for his performance.
When he’s not busy making movies, Leo has made his philanthropic efforts well-known. A strong advocate of saving the environment, Leo takes his efforts seriously (but dresses casually) at an event sponsored by the Natural Resources Defense Council in February 2003.
If we weren’t already jealous of Kate Beckinsale’s beauty, we sure are envious of her proximity to this stud! These two look like Hollywood royalty at the L.A. premiere of The Aviator in December 2004.

Leo has been known to be quite the ladies’ man -- but we can’t say we blame him! Although his relationship with model Gisele Bundchen didn’t last, these two (pictured at the Academy Awards in 2005) made one good-looking pair!

If there’s one thing we can’t resist about Leo, it’s his baby blues. As usual, the star melts our hearts while walking the red carpet at the premiere of The Departed in N.Y.C.
Nothing’s sexier than a do-gooder! Sporting perfectly coiffed hair and a simple button-down, Leo continues to champion his cause at Live Earth, an environmental awareness event in New Jersey in July 2007.
Reunited and it feels so good! After co-starring in Revolutionary Road -- their first film together in 11 years -- Leo and Kate hit the red carpet once more, looking absolutely divine.

In his free time, Leo has proven he’s just a regular sports fan -- and that’s how we like him best! The star looks comfortable and casual as he takes in an NBA playoff game in May 2009.

Another day, another red-carpet event! But despite his whirlwind schedule, Leo’s looks have never faltered, including the dapper suit he wore to the 2010 premiere of Inception in Tokyo.
After he starred in The Aviator in 2004, we’d been waiting patiently for another biopic role from Leo. In 2011, we got our wish: He portrayed FBI director J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar. Although he didn’t win the Golden Globe or SAG Award for which he was nominated, it was still a winning performance in our book!
ZZ Top was right -- every girl is crazy about a sharp-dressed man! At the start of another busy year for Leo (ending with a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained), he attends the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards in style.
After more than 20 years in showbiz, Leo has never looked better! Donning a navy suit and slicked-back hair, the Great Gatsby star is downright dashing at the film’s premiere in N.Y.C. on May 1.
