I lost 2 more pounds this week! I'm down to 161 pounds.
This week seemed a lot more difficult then the last two, for several reasons. I often felt hungry in between meals, and that made it extremely hard to stick to the program. Both of my children had colds, and so we all got less sleep. I had several social engagements after work where I was unable to eat my Chefs Diet dinners. To top off the week, my company had major layoffs. As relieved and happy as I am that I wasn't let go, I was heartbroken to say goodbye to some of my really good friends and colleagues.
Being upset has made me want to eat comfort foods like pasta, burgers and bagels. I can be an emotional eater, but I'm happy to report that I've stuck to the diet for the most part. When I did cheat (by snacking in between a few meals) I choose a healthy snack: natural almonds -- no salt. I still find it difficult to not eat a chip or two when they’re in my presence, but I haven’t given in to the temptation. It feels good to know I'm making the right decisions.
I told myself I wouldn't buy any new clothes until after this challenge was over, but the other day I decided to try on a pair of cute pants at a store. I brought two sizes in to the fitting room, and I was ecstatic when the smaller size was a better fit! Yay! This was and still is a big motivator for me. What also keeps me going is when friends and family notice a difference in my appearance. I hadn't seen one of my best friends in about a month or so, and when I arrived at the restaurant she said, "Did you lose weight? Your face looks different!" My friends, family and co-workers have been extremely supportive. Without them I'm not sure I could make it through the next few weeks.
