A Lesson From Grandma

“My earliest memories are of my mom teaching me (she's still a very good cook). I used to spend time in the summer with my Grannie, and she also taught me quite a few things. When I was in my early 20s and just setting up my own household, she compiled a recipe book for me filled with family favorites. [They were] all handwritten by her on notebook paper and put into a three-ring binder that she covered with fabric. It's been one of my prized possessions for years. I have to admit that I learned quite a bit in high school home economics class, although at the time I hated that class with a passion.”
