Lego

We've yet to meet a little boy who didn't love creating towers (and knocking them down!) with bright plastic Legos -- so build a birthday theme around his favorite toy.

The Cake: Boxed cake mix, frosting and marshmallows are all you need to create this cute Lego cake from bettycrocker.com. But if you're looking for something even easier, check out this totally genius no-bake take on the theme from ewe hooo! Simply frost store-bought snack cakes (like Little Debbie) in Lego-bright colors and top with M&M's. So smart!

The Food: Buy a Lego bricks ice cube tray and use it to make ice cubes, yes, but also Lego-shaped chocolates and even Lego Jell-o jigglers. You can also buy Lego-shaped candy blocks for a dessert table or goody bags. Using a small fondant circle cutter, cut tiny discs of cheese to put on rectangular Club crackers (adhere them with a dab of cream cheese or spray cheese) and discs of pepperoni for Lego pizza squares.

The Party Favors: Legos are the obvious choice here, but you can get more creative than that! Package Lego-shaped soaps in a cello bag, or pair Lego man crayons with Lego coloring pages.
