Lifetime Is Doing a Biopic on Anna Nicole Smith (Of Course They Are)

The troubled star's tragic life will be recounted in the telefilm Anna Nicole, airing June 27

Lifetime movies are known for extreme, belief-stretching drama. But in the case of the network's upcoming telefilm, Anna Nicole (premiering June 27), the true facts of the story will provide more than enough shock value to keep viewers enthralled. Anna Nicole Smith packed 10 Lifetime movies' worth of stories into her one, crazy life!

Judging by all the accoutrements that actress Agnes Bruckner, 27, used to portray Smith, the film will cover the whole, messy range of her life. According to TV Guide, makeup artists worked for hours on Brucker, adding "facial, neck and breast prosthetics, fat suits and bluish death makeup."

Martin Landau, 84, plays the 89-year-old oil tycoon J Howard Marshall, whom Smith married in 1994.

Tying the knot with an incredibly rich man 62 years her senior was just the first of many outrageous stunts in Smith's much-scrutinized life. Though there's no preview trailer yet, it's not exactly hard to predict which highlights the film will have to include. Want a refresher? Here are some of the most notable acts from an unforgettable mess of a woman. ...

Became a Guess Model

In her heyday, Smith was one of the most famous models in the world, appearing as the poster girl for Guess jeans and Playboy's 1993 Playmate of the Year.

Married an Octogenarian

In her 20s, Smith met Marshall at the Houston strip club where she worked as a dancer; she married him in 1994. (Not for his money! she insisted.) He died 13 months later, at age 90, launching a colossal legal battle between Smith and her husband's son, E. Pierce Marshall, for his $1.6 billion estate. In the end, she died before claiming what she thought was her share.

Starred in The Anna Nicole Show

Smith's life unraveled fast, and E! viewers got to see it happen when she filmed The Anna Nicole Show, which ran for two seasons, starting in August 2002. By that point, she was overweight and abusing drugs.

Had a Much-Publicized Baby

The birth certificate listed the father as her boyfriend, Howard K. Stern ... but Stern later turned out not to be the daddy. In fact, several men came forward as the potential father.

Endured Her Teen Son's Death

Tabloids roared with the news that Smith's son Daniel died while visiting his mother in a Bahamas hospital, where she'd just given birth to her daughter Danielynn. Authorities launched an investigation into the cause of death, which the media followed rabidly. Ultimately it was determined to be an accidental drug overdose.

Died in a Florida Hotel Room

In February 2007, Smith lost her own life to a drug overdose. Her passing spawned a fierce paternity battle for Danielynn. Eventually, DNA tests revealed that the daddy was a photographer, Larry Birkhead. He's raising the little girl now.

Let's hope the tabloids leave Danielynn alone! Sadly, the fact that this now-6-year-old looks just like her mom (and is already modeling for Guess) doesn't bode well.
