Chosen to play Middleton in the upcoming Lifetime TV movie William and Kate (scheduled to air the week before the April 29 wedding) is Camilla Luddington, 26, a British actress who U.S. audiences may recognize from small roles on CSI and the daytime soap Days of Our Lives.
Luddington, as lovely as Middleton herself, bears a striking resemblance to the future queen and already must have a strong feel for her real-life counterpart, having grown up in nearby Berkshire and also attending a highbrow university, Oxford. (Middleton, 29, grew up in Bucklebury, about 45 miles outside London, and went to St. Andrews, where she met William.)
Cast as the future King of England is Nico Evers-Swindell, a New Zealand native who has been in episodes of Law & Order and NCIS: Los Angeles. At least looks-wise, he should do nicely as William. Meanwhile, Ben Cross, who appeared in Chariots of Fire, has been selected to play Prince Charles.
The movie will focus on William and Kate's courtship, starting when they met as students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and presumably continuing until at least their engagement announcement, and possibly beyond.
After that, it's a wrap. For more updates to the royal romance, we'll all have to wait for the sequel, or just keep an eye out for all the media stories which are sure to chronicle their every move.
