Likes!: Christian Bale Says Tom Cruise Inspired His American Psycho Role

No one can pay for this kind of insight. In an interview with BlackBook magazine, Christian Bale revealed that he got inspiration for his killer character in American Psycho from a Tom Cruise interview with David Letterman. “[Cruise] just had this very intense friendliness with nothing behind the eyes,” Bale said. While others have chosen to overtly bash Cruise this week (yes, we’re talking to you, Bronson Pinchot), we liked that Bale’s quote was telling yet not intended to be malicious.
