At a recent event in West Hollywood, Nicole Richie stepped out wearing what could only be described as a "head thong." The mom of two adorned her blond finger waves with her own design -- House of Harlow 1960's Gold-Crystal Style Bead Five Strand Headpiece.

Known for her hippie style and California carefree outfits, she paired the hair accessory with a dark velvet dress from her Winter Kate collection, House of Harlow 1960 nude "Nell" pumps and a vintage snakeskin clutch.
