Oprah Sticks to the Script with Sarah Palin

What a week! Before announcing she’d be ending her talk show in 2011, Oprah Winfrey sat down with Sarah Palin for a much-anticipated interview with the former Republican vice presidential candidate. It was an extremely civil affair: O avoided any pointed questions regarding Palin’s views on key issues and stuck with the topics -- Bristol’s pregnancy, the disastrous Katie Couric interview, the scrutiny of the McCain campaign -- outlined in her book, Going Rogue: An American Life. While we couldn’t picture Oprah going rogue herself, we wish the daytime queen had been more probing.
