Lil Wayne is about to spend more than a little time in jail. The Grammy-winning rapper is set to be sentenced to a year behind bars after pleading guilty to weapon possession in a Manhattan courtroom Thursday. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for February.
Charges were filed against the hip-hop star -- who is soon going to be a father for the fourth time -- after police say they found a gun on his tour bus in 2007. He previously had pleaded not guilty to the gun possession charges, which carried a sentence of 3 1/2 years behind bars, but copped a plea with prosecutors after police used a DNA profiling technique to connect him to the gun found on the bus.
