'Lincoln' (Nov. 16)

Short Story:
Ever wonder what happened behind the scenes during Abraham Lincoln's presidency? Lincoln offers an interesting look at the 16th president's (Daniel Day-Lewis) decision to bring forth the 13th Amendment and abolish slavery. Also starring Sally Field as Lincoln's wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as their oldest son, Robert.

What They're Saying:
"It's a hell of a thing, this Lincoln, a portrait of America as a parade of eloquent, stubborn, patriotic, rebellious, manipulative, passionate talking heads spoiling to be heard." -- Rolling Stone

Good for Kids?
Despite its PG-13 rating (for war violence, images of carnage and strong language), Common Sense Media says Lincoln is "an educational, entertaining drama that even some mature fifth graders might be ready to handle, if they watch with their parents."
