Lindsay Lohan Accused of Racism By Alleged Club-Brawl Victim

According to TMZ, Lindsay Lohan's nightclub scuffle last week began after she called allegedly called the accuser a "f***ing Gypsy"

Turns out that the woman Lindsay Lohan allegedly punched, Tiffany Mitchell, is a professional fortune teller -- and Lindsay may have escalated the fight by calling her a "f***ing Gypsy."

The New York City nightclub fight, which ended in Lohan being arrested for assault, was rumored to have started because Lohan was either extremely under the influence of drugs (which she has denied) or fighting Mitchell for the affections of The Wanted's Max George. However, Mitchell told TMZ that their interaction began when she offered the actress a free psychic reading.

According to Mitchell, Lohan blew off her request, saying, "Give me my space." Then a friend who was at the nightclub with Mitchell heard Lohan refer to Mitchell as a "f***ing gypsy." Mitchell's friend reportedly retaliated by hurling insults at Lohan, who then punched the fortune teller in the eye.

"We are not Gypsies. That has nothing to do with our religion ... it was a racist comment," Mitchell's husband Wayne Stevens told TMZ. ("Gypsy" is considered an ethnic slur against the Romani people.)

One of Lohan's friends told TMZ that she did indeed use the word "gypsy," but didn't know it was a derogatory term. She is, however, denying that she hit Mitchell, and saying that her purse was stolen at the club.

"Lindsay was saying,'I was trying to find out who stole [sister] Ali’s purse! I gave her the money for my family, to pay for my brother’s school fees!'" a club witness told the New York Post. "Lindsay says she never hit the girl. She just went over to find if they had her sister’s purse. They were looking around the area, but the girl was sitting at the table, and some pushing started. Lindsay says the purse was never found. She’s desperate to find where the money is."

Mitchell's husband Wayne told ABC News that Lohan did punch Tiffany, who was visiting New York City from Florida, and that her face was visibly injured -- though she didn't need medical attention.

"We don't even want to leave the house at this moment. She's all swollen. Her cheek is swollen. ... She's pretty aggravated," he said on Friday. "(Lindsay) went and pushed my wife pretty hard."

Mitchell must think her case is solid, because she hired a lawyer over the weekend: Gloria Allred, the go-to attorney for victims of celebrities. Lohan, meanwhile, has reportedly hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on Mitchell.

If a judge determines that Lohan's actions violated her probation, the actress could be in for another jail sentence.
