Lindsay Lohan can't seem to keep herself out of trouble, even if she hasn't done anything wrong right now. The 26-year-old just seemed like she was starting to get her life on track, but now she's about to get smacked with some major repercussions from a lie she said to cops back in June.
Remember that car accident Lohan got into with an 18-wheeler during the summer? The one where she tried to bribe the other driver? Well, it turns out that wasn't the only way she attempted to cover up the incident. When Lohan was taken to the hospital following the accident, she reportedly told cops she hadn't been behind the wheel of the car before her lawyer could stop her from lying.
Lohan was driving her rented Porsche at the time of the accident, and there are witnesses to prove it. But because she told law enforcement officials in her post-crash interview that she wasn't driving, she now is about to have an obstruction of justice case leveled against her. TMZ is reporting that Lohan is going to be charged with the crime of lying to police, and that the Santa Monica City Attorney is expected to file it as a misdemeanor this week.
This means bad news for Lohan's probation status. Because of the nature of this incident, the misdemeanor charge can be counted as a probation violation by the judge on that case and potentially send Lohan back to jail for "a long, long time." We bet she is regretting that little lie right about now.
