At this point in her career, Lindsay Lohan can't afford to make anybody angry -- especially not anybody from the hit show that could usher in her comeback. So you'd think that when Lindsay showed up for work on the set of Glee, she'd be on her best behavior... right?
According to an E! News report, Lohan, 25, was nothing but trouble during the show's shoot on Wednesday. Sources on set complained that the starlet was "incredibly late" -- so much so that the producers actually had to send a car to her hotel to pick her up. And things reportedly didn't get any better once the cameras started rolling.
"Lindsay was a total nightmare yesterday," said one Glee source on Thursday. "She was three hours late in the morning, and when she did finally arrive, she just didn't want to be there. She did not want to work. She had not memorized her lines, and she kept disappearing so no one could find her."
Another Glee staff member said that Lohan was "so disrespectful" that the crew stopped referring to her by name, instead calling her "That Girl."
And actress Dot Marie Jones (Coach Bieste) appeared to share their irritation, writing the following comment on Twitter (which she's since deleted): "Gonna be a long day!! Some ppl show up late and just throw a wrench in things. Not cool! I'd rather be an hour early (I was) than 5 minutes late."
Of course, Lindsay's rep says that this is all a big misunderstanding. (He says that a lot, doesn't he?) He told E! that Lindsay only appeared to be late because she was called at 2, but her scene started at 3, "so that meant she had a lot of time where she wasn't doing anything. That's why people didn't see her."
"If there was a problem yesterday, I would have just said 'no comment,' however I can't ignore this because this is utter B.S.," Lohan's rep added. "This is a classic example of people trying to bash Lindsay. She busted her ass yesterday and is back on set again today."
And this is where the good news comes in: She did, in fact, come back to work on Thursday, and was reportedly a model citizen. Not only did she show up on time, but she actually was ahead of schedule, finishing her shoot three hours early. So maybe there's hope for LiLo yet?
The New Directions haven't given up her, anyhow. As one insider told E! News, "Everyone on Glee is still rooting for Lindsay. We had made a few jokes at her expense earlier in the show, and we really do want her to be able to succeed."
The recently probation-free starlet will be playing herself on Glee, judging the Nationals competition alongside Paris Hilton and Suburgatory's Rex Lee. Will Glee give Lohan the renewed coolness that it's bestowed on guest stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Ricky Martin? We'll have to tune in on May 15 to find out.
