Lindsay Lohan's legal troubles are over. Ha, just kidding! But it turns out that Lohan, who was just sentenced to rehab in connection with her June car accident, won't be facing charges for her November bar fight. So that's something!
The actress was accused of punching a fortune teller named Tiffany Mitchell at a Manhattan night club. However, the District Attorney is now dismissing the charges for lack of evidence. E! News states that a surveillance video from the club was "inconclusive," as it didn't actually show Lohan hitting Mitchell. Also, witnesses on Mitchell's side reportedly refused to cooperate with investigators, which didn't exactly help her case.
"An alleged gypsy fortune teller tried to grasp her 15 minutes of fame by claiming that Lindsay Lohan assaulted her," Lohan's attorney Mark Heller gloated to E! News. "Unfortunately, she was unable to see in her crystal ball that I would come to Lindsay's defense and present exculpatory evidence to the New York District Attorney's Office, which would facilitate and result in a determination by them to decline to prosecute Lindsay Lohan."
Mitchell's attorney Gloria Allred denies that her witnesses didn't cooperate with the D.A., saying that she is surprised and "very disappointed" that the charges are being dropped. The fortune teller may pursue a civil suit.
Lohan, of course, is still facing a 90-day rehab sentence (in lieu of jail) for unrelated charges, including lying to the police and probation violation. Still, she majorly dodged a bullet with this nightclub case. Will Lindsay take this opportunity to get her act together?
Sadly, it seems she's not off to such a great start. According to TMZ, Lohan followed Monday's court hearing by visiting a Beverly Hills club, where she was "knocking back vodka sodas." Then on Friday night, she reportedly ordered vodka on the rocks at a San Diego club -- served in a carafe, so as to look like water.
On her Twitter account, Lohan has denied that she was out drinking and clubbing:
Guys relax, that was NOT me at A/V or in the @mrpink SUV. I'm taking this seriously and focused on the road ahead.— Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) March 19, 2013
I stayed in last night, after a pretty long day...and ordered sushi to my hotel.— Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) March 19, 2013
Don't believe EVERY little thing you hear, unless you hear it from me. The support I have gotten, has been great and means alot. <3 L— Lindsay Lohan (@lindsaylohan) March 19, 2013
Sorry, Lindsay -- it's entirely possible that you're telling the truth. After all this time, it's just hard to believe you.
