When Lindsay Lohan gets in trouble, she doesn't do it halfway. Early this morning she was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in a New York City nightclub -- and now Lohan has been charged with three more crimes in California, including lying to police.
The new charges are connected to Lohan's Santa Monica car accident, which happened in June. (In other words, she didn't do any new damage; it's just a case of very bad timing.) The actress is facing three misdemeanors -- obstructing or resisting a police officer, providing false information to a police officer, and reckless driving -- for allegedly rear-ending a truck with her Porsche and then pretending that she wasn't the driver. "During the subsequent investigation, information was developed that Lohan was the driver of the Porsche when the accident occurred," Santa Monica police said in a statement.
The combined charges are punishable by over a year of jail time, but Lohan has the added bonus of being on for her 2011 jewelry theft. (Remember that? It was four arrests ago!) That means she's headed back to court to face Judge Stephanie Sautner, who will likely revoke her probation and could give her a jail sentence on the spot. (We're guessing Judge Sautner won't be happy, since Lindsay ignored her one piece of advice from earlier this year: "Live your life a more mature way. Stop the nightclubbing." Hindsight is 20/20!)
Meanwhile, back on the East coast, some juicy new details have emerged about Lohan's N.Y.C. fight. Before hitting the club on Wednesday night, Lohan went to a Justin Bieber concert, with opening act The Wanted. Reportedly, Lohan had her sights set on boy band member Max George, who accompanied her and some friends to the nightclub Avenue. According to TMZ, both Lindsay and Max got plastered, and when Max's attention strayed to another woman, Lindsay punched the object of his affections in the face.
RadarOnline has a slightly different take on the night's events, reporting that Lindsay was "completely out of control" because of alcohol and cocaine. According to the website's source, the victim, identified as Tiffany Eve Mitchell, tried to take a picture with Lohan, who refused -- then proceeded to antagonize Mitchell for the rest of the night. "Lindsay was just looking for trouble. She totally sucker-punched that girl in the face out of nowhere! Nobody saw it coming," said a witness, who also reported that Lohan spit on the clubgoer.
For the nightclub incident, Lohan is facing a third-degree misdemeanor assault charge -- and another good reason to have her probation revoked. Who would have guessed those Liz & Dick reviews would be the high point of Lindsay's week?
