It seems Lindsay Lohan is trying everything she can to get out of some jail time!
The troubled starlet entered a sober living facility on Thursday -- five days before she was scheduled to begin her jail sentence on July 20 -- as a possible last-ditch effort to show that she is serious about taking responsibility for her recent behavior. And to further help her cause, the actress has hired former O.J. Simpson attorney Robert Shapiro to represent her.
"I have agreed to represent Ms. Lohan on the condition that she complies with all of the terms of her probation, including a requirement of jail time that was imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Shapiro told UsMagazine.com in a statement.
"Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with," said Shapiro, who opened Pickford Lofts, the facility where Lohan's is staying, after his son overdosed in 2005. "Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan’s long term recovery and sobriety."
According to sources, Shapiro has been hired by the Lohan clan to get the starlet's 90-day jail sentence reduced, or even wiped out, but Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers told RadarOnline.com that it's not likely to happen: "It's a moot point to ask Judge Revel to send Ms. Lohan to rehab only as Judge Revel has already sentenced her."
