Sorry, Lindsay! Jail Time Is Not Over

Despite recent reports to the contrary, the Sheriff's Dept. insists Lindsay will not be freed this week

Despite recent reports -- and a lot of hoping on her part -- Lindsay Lohan will not be getting out of jail before the end of this week.

"Nothing has changed," Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told E! News. "When she was incarcerated I said a couple of weeks and it hasn't been a couple of weeks. That turns out to be the first part of next week. It could be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, something like that."

Earlier in the day, LiLo's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, said that she was hoping her client would be breaking out of the slammer much earlier than expected, due to overcrowding in the facility.

"I have my fingers crossed and Lindsay does, too," the attorney said.

Unfortunately, the finger-crossing didn't seem to do much for Lohan, though Holley says her client is dealing with her time behind bars better than we think.

"She's fine," Holley insisted, calling the talk that the actress was crying and hysterical when she entered jail "not true."

The attorney added that Lohan and her jailmates have a "mutual respect" for each other, and that she isn't being harassed by the other inmates.
