Lindsay Lohan is reportedly taking on a new role: porn star! For the upcoming indie film Inferno, the actress will portray the late Linda Lovelace (most famous for starring in the 1972 hard-core skin flick Deep Throat), according to a source close to the project.
Lohan's photographer pal Tyler Shields -- who is responsible for Lohan's recent gun-toting pics -- recently confirmed the casting news to E! News. Shields says he's talked to the movie's director, Matthew Wilder, and the two are working out the details so that Shields can work with Lohan again. "[Wilder] contacted me and asked me if I would do the promos for the movie," Shields said at the opening of his new exhibition.
Producers plan to officially announce Inferno later this month at the Cannes Film Festival. The real actress known as Lovelace died in 2002 at age 53, as the result of a fatal car wreck.
For now, Lohan plans to keep us talking with additional controversial photos shot by Wilder for his upcoming book The Dirty Side of Glamor. "The photos I have not released will top anything you've seen before," Shields said. "Let's just say they're what you've seen maybe times 10, maybe times 100."
